School students to create the first international virtual museum

From 14 October to 24 November 2019, school students can take free online 3D modelling courses, send their practical work to the virtual museum and win valuable prizes.

The First IT-Based International Educational VR Museum for school students is being implemented under the grant programme of Rossotrudnichestvo and is aimed at building digital competencies and practical results of improvement of digital literacy of school students and employees of Russian schools, including in-depth study of information technologies and programming in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.

3D Modelling Online Course: Theory and Practice consists of 5 modules that include theory, video lectures, interactive presentations, practical tasks and questions for self-assessment. The participants will learn about the history of the virtual  and augmented reality, get acquainted with the best modern projects and obtain practical skills in such software products as 3Ds Max, Fusion 360, Blender and Unity3D.

All participants who successfully complete the course will be awarded personal certificates.

After graduation, the participants can upload their practical work to the website of the international museum www.virtualmuseum.online to participate in the Contest of school students.

Practical work that will be accepted for the Contest should be dedicated to the following subjects: World of Animals and Machines, Space and Art, 3D Characters and Iconic Figures.

Golden, silver and bronze winners will be awarded prizes by the initiators and partners of the Contest: Wacom graphic tablets, VR headsets and gift certificates for online training for digital professions.

The winners will be announced and awarded in December 2019 . Details will be available on www.virtualmuseum.online.

Besides, the project will include intramural events which will be announced on www.vr-ar.media.

All project events are free-of-charge.
