Foreign specialists will come to Russia to study and work under the Digital Economy of the Russian Federation National Programme

Rossotrudnichestvo implements efforts under the Digital Economy of the Russian Federation National Programme to attract foreign talents to study and work in Russia.

The projects are aimed at developing the digital economy: cyber security, blockchain, VR, artificial intelligence, and use of big data.

The projects implemented by Rossotrudnichestvo include the leading Russian universities and institutes: PFUR, the Financial University, the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, MAKO, IBS Group, etc. The projects are aimed at developing the digital economy: cyber security, blockchain, VR, artificial intelligence, and use of big data. Many projects will be implemented as hackathons, i.e. marathons allowing young programmers, designers and other IT professionals to create a new joint project. The events will be held in the countries of CIS, Europe and Asia: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Slovakia, Germany, Ireland, France, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, etc..

Mikhail Popov, Director of the Scientific and Educational Project Management Department of Rossotrudnichestvo, told about the necessity to implement projects in the context of international cooperation of young and talented IT professionals. “Teams from different countries will compete in such disciplines of the digital economy as big data, artificial intelligence, neurotechnologies, distributed ledger systems, robotics, virtual and augmented reality technologies. Events will be held abroad as early as this year, and the best teams will be invited to the summer schools of the leading Russian universities and institutes for implementation of joint creative projects”, emphasised he.

PFUR will implement a project of Rossotrudnichestvo aimed at teaching the distributed ledger technology and development of mobile apps. The project may also be used to develop a system for logistic tracking of goods or a payment system, management of digital diplomas and e-voting. An international hackathon will be held on 15-16 November 2019 in the University of Latvia, Riga, in cooperation with the experts from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, the Stockholm School of Economics and Microsoft.

IBS Group will develop two projects under the programme. One of them is aimed at cooperation of school and university students abroad: a website with a news section, a forum and a mobile app will be developed. In 2019, the project will be launched in a test mode, and its fill version is expected to be available in 2020. The second project is a system for search and recruitment of foreign talents by the Russian digital economy sector companies. The system will allow to increase the number of foreign talents working at Russian companies by improving the employment-related cooperation process.

The Bauman Moscow State Technical University will implement a material engineering and composites learning module for Rossotrudnichestvo and arrange a hackathon. The Financial University and Raiffeisenbank will also arrange a hackathon to develop a business app. The winners will be invited to a summer camp together with the leading Russian foreign IT professionals.
