Leonid Konik, CEO – Editor in Chief of ComNews Group LLC, acted as the moderator at the plenary session. The first section of the session was dedicated to urban experience in implementation of the smart city project: the interim results and exchange of the best practices. Anatoly Kotov, Deputy Head of Smart Saint Petersburg project office, Special Envoy of the Governor of Saint Petersburg for Economic Development Affairs, delivered a report on the regional experience. “The absence of common databases and verification systems is the key problem of the digital economy. If we fail to solve that task, it will be hard to progress,” he noted.
Evgeny Shikhanov, a representative for the Sarov Administration, related about the common information platform being implemented at Rosatom’s smart cities. Rinat Haertdinov, Head of the Nytva Urban District, reported on adoption of a unique social solution as part of the Smart City project in Perm Territory.
In the second part of the plenary session, state corporations and companies who were actively developing the smart city projects, shared their experience. Oleg Izvekov, Director of the Smart City – Digital Region competence centre with Ruselectronics Holding affiliated with Rostec, delivered his presentation. He noted that the Smart City project from Minstroy could be treated differently, it deserved much criticism, frequently for quite a good reason, but existence of the project gives one indisputable advantage. The fact that public officials in Russian regions finally started to mention implementation of the smart city projects in the regulatory and easy-to-understand language.
