Get 5 Points When applying to ITMO University in 2020: CifRU Project
This year, CifRU has got a gift in store for prospective students: an opportunity to get an extra 5 points when applying to ITMO University by signing up at the CifRU platform and passing five of the five offered modules by May 2020. The project is being implemented as part of the Digital Economy of the Russian Federation national programme.
The project contains 15 online modules and includes information from various digital literacy domains: programming, IT security, website development, virtual reality, cryptocurrency. The project envisages online training modules and webinars, tests on the completed materials and tasks on development of one’s own digital content. The programme is aimed at middle and senior school students, teachers and administrative staff of schools abroad.
Upon course completion, the participants get an electronic completion certificate and bonuses applicable in admittance to ITMO University – extra 5 points. The certificate has unlimited duration, is valid when getting enrolled to any programme. Teachers of Russian schools abroad will be awarded a career enhancement certificate, while administrators – a digital culture course completion certificate.
In 2019, under the grant provided by Rossotrudnichestvo, ITMO University launched the CifRU web portal, a free online platform to teach digital literacy and culture to school students of grades 6 to 11 and employees of Russian schools outside Russia.
The mission of Rossotrudnichestvo is to secure Russian geopolitical interests by promoting cultural exchange, education and new technologies as well as to build strong relations and cooperation worldwide at the highest level of professionalism, efficiency and sustainability. The events are held as part of the federal project Human Resources for Digital Economy in line with the national programme Digital Economy of the Russian Federation.
